What types of stroke exist?

A stroke is an injury that occurs when blood circulation to the brain is interrupted or reduced, depriving the brain of oxygen and nutrients. Within minutes, brain cells begin to die. For this reason, a stroke is considered a medical emergency and requires immediate diagnosis and treatment.

Stroke, often called cerebral attack, is a leading cause of disability and death worldwide.

There are three types of strokes:

  • Hemorrhagic stroke.
  • Thrombotic stroke.
  • Ischemic stroke.
  • Embolic effusion.
  • Transient ischemic attack.

Some of its symptoms may be:

Sudden loss of balance; dizziness, lack of coordination.

Sudden blurred vision or decreased vision (may occur in one or both eyes) or double vision.

Acute numbness; weakness or paralysis in an arm, leg, or face; especially if it is on one side of the body.

Confusion or sudden difficulty expressing oneself or understanding simple statements. Caution: If a person struggles to formulate a simple sentence, they may be having a stroke.

Sudden and unexplained onset of headaches, which may be accompanied by vomiting.

Below is a video that will explain more about this topic. I recommend watching it because not only will you recognize in time that you’re having a stroke, but you can also act quickly if you notice someone else experiencing symptoms of a stroke.
