While a teacher named Yolanda was approaching her workplace at San Marcos High School in Texas, she didn\u2019t imagine the surprise that was waiting for her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was about to enter the school when five little fur babies showed up all of a sudden and started running toward her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The malnourished puppies looked at the teacher with pleading eyes, asking her for much-needed help and compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yolanda was compelled to help them. She made her way inside the school and sought assistance from her coworker, Belinda Pe\u00f1a, who is a senior assistant at the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Pe\u00f1a went outside to check on the babies, she spotted a cardboard box nearby and realized that the fur babies were abandoned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hungry pups managed to escape the box and ask for help.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the good humans picked up the box, they read the heartbreaking note written by the person who left the puppies outside the Texas school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDog shelter didn\u2019t want them. We can\u2019t take care of them. The original owner wanted to throw them. I\u2019m sure you can do something. I\u2019m sorry,\u201d <\/em>the note read.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Both the teachers and the staff collected the puppies and took care of them.<\/strong> Since it was hot, they gave them a drink in order to help them cool off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The staff who worked limited hours during the summer was glad that they happened to be at their workplace and help the little pups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf not, who knows what would have happened?\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Pe\u00f1a told\u00a0The Dodo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good humans called animal control. <\/strong>As they waited for the officer to arrive, the staff played with the sweet babies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey were the cutest things. They had big old ears \u2026 Just happy little puppies<\/em>,\u201d Pe\u00f1a added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One teacher fell in love with one of the puppies and decided to take him home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking For Loving Forever Homes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kay Lynn Dodd, a school counselor, was captivated by the remaining four puppies. When the animal control officer arrived to take them, Dodd was unsure if she could bear to say goodbye to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe officer was like, \u2018Well, it is the end of the day, I can\u2019t guarantee somebody\u2019s going to be able to be there at the shelter to intake them. And I [was] like, \u2018I can\u2019t have that on my conscience,’\u201d<\/em> Dodd told The Dodo<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good-hearted woman brought them home in order to foster them. <\/strong>She wished to give them a lot of love and prepare them for their forever homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Owing to the wonderful care Dodd pampered them with, the puppies thrived. They enjoyed playing in their foster home and taking in all the love Dodd showered them with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She named them Rotund, Buttercup, Bandit, and Snickers. The siblings felt grateful to their foster mom and proved to be very affectionate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As much as they love spending time with Dodd, the furballs can\u2019t wait to meet their humans who would love them to the moon and back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
