A fawn has been caught on camera taking a rest in a special spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thousands of people have shared the image of the fawn who was found at a national park in Georgia, curled up next to the headstone of an unknown soldier next to an American flag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A maintenance supervisor at the park captured the beautiful moment at Andersonville National Cemetery, in Georgia, and shared it on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The post of the fawn sleeping next to the headstone which reads \u201cUnknown U.S. Soldier,\u201d attracted over 100 comments including \u201cWhat an honor! Our God is mighty in his creation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One user noted: \u201cI just read fawns aren\u2019t strong when they are newly born and mom will leave them in a safe place while she is feeding and will come back for them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To which Andersonville National Historic Site replied: \u201cThat\u2019s exactly right! She came back later and got the fawn.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the\u00a0National Parks Service\u00a0Andersonville National Historic Site housed Camp Sumter, one of the Confederacy\u2019s largest military prisons, during the Civil War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andersonville National Cemetery, opened in 1865 and is still in use. The site also includes a memorial to all American prisoners of war and the National Prisoner of War Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wildlife experts say it\u2019s common for a parent to leave her fawn so they can go off and feed and the best thing you can do is leave the animal alone, even if they are left for a few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFinding a young animal alone does not mean it\u2019s been abandoned or needs to be rescued,\u201d according to the\u00a0Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, as cited by\u00a0Fox News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAdults are often nearby and visit their young only occasionally to avoid detection from predators.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
