<\/figure>\n\n\n\nWe\u2019ve seen many instances of\u00a0humans going out of their way\u00a0to\u00a0look after their local strays\u2026 but sometimes it\u2019s actually the animals who have the heart to\u00a0look after their own kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s what one woman realized when she saw her dog make a heartwarming donation to a stray in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A dog named Lana began her life as a stray on the streets of Brazil, until she was rescued and taken in by a woman named Suelen Schaumloeffel and her fiancee, according to\u00a0The Dodo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They gave her a nice warm home, and Lana never had to worry about living on the streets again\u2026 but apparently, she never forgot where she came from, and remembered all the other dogs still without homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One chilly evening in 2017, Suelen left out a thick blanket for Lana in her dog house to keep her warm. But later, she saw her dog doing something that she couldn\u2019t believe:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lana gave her blanket to a stray dog!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The stray, who the couple had seen around before, was just outside the fence, and Lana brought the blanket for him, sacrificing her own comfort to keep the stray safe from the cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Her owner couldn\u2019t believe what she was seeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI thought, \u2018How beautiful what she did for her friend,’\u201d Suelen told The Dodo. \u201cMy best four-legged friend reminded me of something so important: generosity!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The owners decided to try and help the stray themselves. They tried to take him in to help him find a home, however the dog always flees when they get to close, so they just left food and water for him instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They are no doubt following the example of their kindhearted dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShe is the nicest little dog I\u2019ve ever met,\u201d Suelen said. \u201cWe forget sometimes the difference we can make in someone\u2019s life. She reminded me of this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s truly amazing how kind and generous dogs can be.
