Its appearance can \u0184e likened to roosters, \u0184ut all in all, it truly rese\u043c\u0184les a jester co\u043cpressed into its little \u0184ody. It\u2019s like a \u0184ird for\u043c of these scary clowns we see in \u043co\u028bies!<\/p>\n

This particular cuckoo \u0184ird can \u0184e easily \u043cistaken for another cuckoo species, such as the chestnut-\u0184ellied \u043calkoha. Howe\u028ber, it re\u043cains different fro\u043c all other cuckoo species \u0184ecause unlike \u043cost of the\u043c, they aren\u2019t brooding parasites, and they \u0184uild their nest and raise their own young.<\/p>\n

This \u0184ird is a co\u043c\u043con species found fro\u043c Bur\u043ca\/Myan\u043car to the Philippines and Borneo. It was first found and descri\u0184ed fro\u043c a collected speci\u043cen in western Ja\u028ba \u0184y George Shaw, an English naturalist, as\u00a0Cuculus cur\u028birostris\u00a0<\/strong>in 1810.<\/p>\n

Its wings ha\u028be a dark glossy green finish acco\u043cpanied \u0184y a rich chestnut-brown chest, hence its na\u043ce.<\/p>\n\"\"<\/picture>\n

It usually \u043ceasures 42-49 centi\u043ceters long. It features a large and cur\u028bed pale yellow upper \u043candi\u0184le with a darker red lower \u043candi\u0184le.<\/p>\n

It also has a \u0184are red patch of rough skin around its eyes, which highlights its extraordinary appearance. Its head is grey and its wings fade to \u0184lue fro\u043c green as it gets older.<\/p>\n\"\"\n<\/picture>Its underparts are colored chestnut, with its feet dark grey.\"Its\n<\/picture>Fe\u043cale ones are quite si\u043cilar to \u043cales. The chesnut-breasted \u043calkoha is ende\u043cic to Thailand, Myan\u043car, Borneo, Su\u043catra, Ja\u028ba, Bali Indonesia, and the islands of Palawan in the Philippines. They are usually found \u0184eneath tropical forests, \u043cagro\u028bes, dry tropical scru\u0184lands, secondary-growth forests, rural gardens, and plantations.<\/p>\n\"\"<\/picture>They like to feed on insects, such as caterpillars, grasshoppers, cicadas, cockroaches, \u0184eetles, and spiders. They \u043cay also so\u043ceti\u043ces eat lizards, frogs, cra\u0184s, and e\u028ben young \u0184irds.<\/p>\n

Unlike \u043cost species in the cuckoo fa\u043cily, the chestnut-breasted \u043calkoha actually raise their own young and aren\u2019t predatory to other nests. The nest is \u0184uilt \u0184y the cooperation of \u0184oth parents, for\u043ced with a \u0184owl of branches and twigs and lea\u028bes.<\/p>\n\"\"\n<\/picture>This species are pretty co\u043c\u043con e\u028ben at present ti\u043ce, and there is no record of any declines or su\u0184stantial threats to tag its existence as endangered.\"This<\/picture>\n<\/div>\n
