Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar performed the halftime show of Super Bowl 59 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was joined by special guest and R&B singer SZA<\/a> as the performance was praised by fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the Eagles\u2019 40-22 win over the Chiefs, NBC posted on X, promoting next season\u2019s Super Bowl<\/a> which will be broadcast on their network and set to take place at Levi\u2019s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plenty of fans in the comments shared their opinion that the former American Idol winner Underwood should perform at halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want a halftime show with Carrie Underwood,\u201d one wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNext year the Super Bowl halftime show needs to have Carrie!\u201d another added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNext year, the Superbowl halftime show will feature Morgan Wallen & Carrie Underwood in a musical reboot of \u201cThe Dukes of Hazzard,\u201d a third added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Underwood being part of an NBC production would make plenty of sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 41-year-old has sung the theme song of NBC\u2019s Sunday Night Football every year since 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately for Underwood, the eight-time Grammy winner suffered a huge technical error during her inauguration performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were several seconds of awkward silence on live TV when the music for America The Beautiful was supposed to be playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Underwood, and the whole room, seemed confused at the sequence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She then belted out the tune acapella and received mostly positive reviews for her performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, after the mishap, a source told The U.S. Sun, that Underwood has been \u201csecond-guessing\u201d agreeing to sing at the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NFL usually announces the Super Bowl halftime performer during the regular season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The league announced in September that the 22-time Grammy winner Lamar would headline the Super Bowl 59 halftime show in New Orleans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his performance, a protestor was spotted on the stage at the Caesars Superdome waving a combined Palestinian and Sudanese flag<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The individual, a man, appeared out there for several minutes before being noticed by security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He then jumped off the stage and ran onto the field before being tackled by a security worker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protestor was detained but will not face charges, the New Orleans police revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
